I ran into several problems when converting to awd. first was my car was automatic. I got the motor and trans sitting in and realized it was about an inch too low on the passenger side. I had to change the mount on the frame to a stick one, which involved grinding off the welds and welding in a new bracket.
had to cut a hole in the firewall just above the steering rack to run the shift cables thru, as the awd is cable shifted.
The driveshaft uses two carrier bearings in the center, and I had to cut out the mounts from the 4wd body and weld them into mine.
the rearend wasn't bad, except the two front diff mounts just had holes, with no threads. first i just welded nuts in above the holes, but after a week or two they pulled out of the sheetmetal. I then got some 3/8 thick bar and tapped that and installed it. haven't had any problems since.
